Ayurvedic Herbs
Ayurvedic herbs have been used in India for many centuries, along with an understanding of diet as a means for health and longevity. In this sense kitchen herbs are seen more as a food to be taken alongside with meals.

Herbal usage was first written down in the early Ayurvedic texts around 2,000 BC and drawn from the collective herbal knowledge of the Sages. Over the centuries others have added to this knowledge, enriching the information on the use of Ayurvedic herbs today.

Herbal Mixtures
One of the specialties of ayurveda is the science of herb-combining that has been utilised proven over thousands of years of clinical practice. Ayurvedic herbal formulations are, with very few exceptions, blends rather than single herbs or oils.

Each herbal formula is a precise combination of herbs that are carefully selected and combined mazimise their potency in different ways:
  • Primary herbs target a specific area of health, such as energy or the mind.
  • Supporting herbs enhance the action of the primary herbs and reinforce their healing action.
  • Bioavailability herbs help your body assimilate and use utilise the nutrients.
  • Herbal actions remove impurities and the effects of less-than-perfect digestion from your body.
  • Balancing herbs cancel out any potential discomforts or side effects that can come with the benefits of a particular herb.

We use the whole herb in our formulas, because we understand that the healing wisdom of the herbs is a delicate balance that is preserved in the whole plant, rather than any one ingedient chemical isolates. Using the different combination of herbs creates a whole that is greater than the sum of its parts and resultant formula that has the benefit of wholeness and balance.
